Roof Guru Terms & Conditions

At Roof Guru, we believe in clear communication, fair pricing, and doing things right the first time. These Terms & Conditions explain what’s included in our service packages, how our guarantees work, and what you can expect when you choose us.

1. General Overview

Roof Guru Limited (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides roofing services including re-roofing, repairs, maintenance, and roof restoration throughout Hawke’s Bay.
By accepting a quote, invoice, or service agreement, you (“the client”, “you”, or “homeowner”) agree to the terms below.

2. Free Expert Roof Health Report

  • The Free Roof Health Report (valued at $450) is included with select packages.
  • The report includes an in-person inspection, moisture scan, and photo/video documentation.
  • The report is intended for general guidance and not as a structural certification.

3. Fixed Price Promise

  • All quotes are fixed unless the project scope changes (e.g., additional structural repairs discovered once the roof is removed).
  • Any variation will be discussed and approved in writing before work continues.
  • There are no hidden fees or surprise add-ons.

4. Fixed Scaffolding Pricing

  • Scaffolding costs are fixed as quoted.
  • If weather delays your project, you will not be charged any additional scaffolding rental fees.
  • This does not apply if the delay is caused by factors outside of weather or Roof Guru’s control (e.g., customer rescheduling).

5. Fast-Track Install Guarantee

  • Once installation begins, we guarantee project completion within 10 working days.
  • If the project exceeds this timeframe, Roof Guru will credit or refund $500 per day delayed.
  • This guarantee excludes delays caused by:
    • Extreme weather or unsafe working conditions
    • Material supply chain disruptions beyond our control
    • Customer-initiated changes, delays, or access restrictions
  • All Fast-Track claims must be made in writing within 14 days of project completion.

6. 10 Year Leak-Free Warranty

  • All re-roof installations include a 10 Year Workmanship Guarantee covering workmanship-related leaks or faults for the life of the roof.
  • This guarantee applies only to work completed by Roof Guru and only while the original materials remain in place.
  • The warranty is void if:
    • Repairs or modifications are made by non-Roof Guru contractors
    • Damage occurs due to external factors (e.g., storms, impact damage, lack of maintenance)
  • Under our Guardian Care program, any covered issue will be repaired promptly and at no cost to the homeowner (lifetime warranty).

7. Complimentary Gutter Flush & Tune-Up

  • A one-time complimentary gutter flush and minor tune-up are included at the time of installation.
  • This includes clearing debris and ensuring correct gutter flow; it does not include replacement of damaged gutters or downpipes.

8. Neighbour Loyalty Bonus

  • When you refer a neighbour who books and completes a roofing project with Roof Guru, you’ll both receive a $500 discount.
  • Discounts are applied upon full payment of both projects.
  • Only valid for projects completed within 6 months of each other.

9. Insurance & Liability

  • Roof Guru holds active public liability insurance of up to $2 million.
  • While every precaution is taken, liability is limited to the scope of our services and coverage within our insurance policy.
  • We are not liable for pre-existing damage or conditions outside the roofing work area.

10. Payments

  • A deposit may be required to confirm your booking.
  • Final payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Late payments may incur fees in accordance with the terms stated on your invoice.

11. Changes, Cancellations & Access

  • If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 5 working days’ notice.
  • Additional costs may apply for cancellations after materials have been ordered.
  • Safe and clear access to the work area must be provided for the duration of the project.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be handled through good faith discussions before further legal action is considered.
